CREAMY RICE PUDDING 
1/2 c. rice
1 qt. milk
1/2 c. brown sugar or honey
Pinch salt
1 tbsp. butter
Flavoring if desired

Wash rice, put in a pudding pan, add milk and add other ingredients. Put in a slow oven and cook until the rice is tender and it is the right consistency. Must be stirred down gently and frequently.

Stirring the golden brown that forms on top through the pudding gives it a flavor of all its own. If it is to be served cold, do not cook too thick as it will thicken in the cooling.
