DOWN SOUTH BARS 
2 c. brown sugar
4 eggs
3/4 c. flour
2 c. pecans
1/4 lb. butter
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
Confectioners sugar

Melt butter in 9 x 13 pan. Mix eggs, add brown sugar, stir well. Add flour, vanilla and baking soda; mix well. Stir in pecans. Pour over butter and bake for 30 to 35 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool slightly and sprinkle confectioners sugar over and cut into squares.

I've made this recipe many times in the past, but when I did it today it turned out to be way too gooey. Should I have baked it longer? I baked it in a shiny foil pan. Was the pan the problem? Did I cut the bars too soon? They rolled up into balls instead of remaining squares. I'm thinking I should have used more flour. Suggestions?
