SWEET CHUNK PICKLES 
10 med. cucumbers
8 c. sugar
2 tbsp. pickling spices
5 tsp. salt
4 c. apple cider vinegar

Cover whole cucumbers with boiling water and allow to steam overnight. Drain and repeat this step for 3 days. On the fourth day, drain and slice into 1/2 inch pieces. Combine remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil and pour over cucumbers. Let stand for 2 days. On third day, bring to a boil then seal in hot, clean jars. Makes 7 pints pickles.
