MAPLE WALNUT PIE 
2 c. milk
4 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. maple syrup
1/2 tsp. salt
2 egg yolks
1/2-1 c. walnuts, chopped

Scald milk. Mix beaten egg yolks with syrup, flour and salt. Add hot milk and cook in double boiler until thick. Remove from fire. Add crushed nuts. Warm nuts in oven before adding to mixture. Fill baked pie shell. Cover with meringue made from beaten egg whites. Brown in oven.
