1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. peanut butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs, well-beaten
1 c. shortening
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking powder or baking soda
3 c. flour, sifted
Pinch salt

Mix thoroughly. Roll and shape. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) until brown.
