PEARS HELENE 
2 canned pear halves or 5 quarters with syrup
2 lg. scoops vanilla ice cream
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 c. hot fudge sauce
Toasted almonds, if desired

Combine pears and pear syrup with vanilla. Cover and refrigerate 3 to 4 hours. At serving time, arrange pears with a scoop of vanilla ice cream in each of 2 stemmed dessert glasses. Pour hot fudge sauce over. Garnish with toasted almonds, if desired. Serves 2.
