APPLE SLICES
1 c. Crisco shortening
2 1/2 c. flour
1 egg in 2/3 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt

Roll out like pie crust using half for the bottom of 10x15 pan. Sprinkle enough corn flakes to cover the bottom crust. Peel enough apples and slice these to fill the pan as for a pie. Pour over these a mixture of 1 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon using the second half of the crust mixture rolled as for a pie crust.

Cover the filling mixture and seal the edges. Use a small amount of milk or cream, brush over the top crust and sprinkle a small amount of the sugar mixture. When the crust is golden brown, remove from oven and frost the top with a mixture of 1/2 cup powdered sugar and warm water and vanilla. Use enough water to form drizzle frosting.

Good served warm, goes further than a pie will for a small dessert. Best with ice cream.
