ITALIANO MAIN DISH SOUP 
1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 med. clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp. oregano leaves, crushed
2 tbsp. shortening
2 c. coarsely chopped cabbage
1 can bean with bacon soup
1 soup can water
1 can minestrone soup
1 (about 8 oz.) can kidney beans, drained
1/2 tsp. salt
Generous dash of pepper
Grated Parmesan cheese

Shape beef into 18 meatballs. In large saucepan, brown meatballs and cook onion with garlic and oregano in shortening until tender. Add cabbage; cook until just tender. Add bean with bacon soup; gradually stir in water. Add remaining ingredients except cheese. Heat; stir occasionally. Serve with cheese. Yields: 6 cups.
