FRESH STRAWBERRY GLAZE | |
1 pt. fresh strawberries 1/3 c. sugar 1 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch 1 tbsp. sugar 1/8 tsp. red food coloring Wash and cap strawberries. Slice into small bowl. Add the 1/3 cup sugar, mix slightly and allow to stand about 1 1/2 hours to draw juice. Drain off juice; add water to make 1/2 cup liquid. In a small saucepan, mix cornstarch with the remaining sugar. Stir in berry liquid, mixing smoothly. Add food coloring. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture is thickened and sauce is clear, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Place drained sliced berries on top of baked cheese cake. Spread glaze evenly over berries. |
