CHOCOLATE DIAMONDS 
1 sq. unsweetened chocolate
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 egg, unbeaten
1/4 c. flour, sifted
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. finely chopped nuts or sliced almonds

Melt chocolate and butter over hot water. Remove from heat. Add remaining ingredients except nuts. Mixture will be thin. Spread in 2 greased 8 x 8 x 2 inch pans or one 9 x 13 inch pan. Sprinkle with nuts.

Bake at 400 degrees for about 12 minutes. Cool slightly and cut in diamonds or squares. When cold, remove to wire racks. Makes about 2 1/2 dozen.
