MEXICAN PECAN PRALINES 
2 c. sugar
1 c. milk or buttermilk
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. baking soda

Combine all ingredients and bring to a boil with a minimum of stirring. Stir until color changes and soda quits foaming and mixture reaches soft ball stage. Add 1 cup pecans and drop by spoon onto oiled paper. Variation: Add 2 teaspoons vanilla and 2 cups pecan halves.
