BISCUITS SUPREME | |
2 c. flour 4 tsp. baking powder 1 tbsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. shortening 2/3 c. milk 1. Stir thoroughly the first 5 ingredients. 2. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. 3. Make a well in the center of the dough; add milk all at once. 4. Stir until dough clings together. 5. Knead gently on lightly floured surface (10-12 strokes). 6. Roll to 1/2 inch thickness. Dip 2 1/2 inch biscuit cutter into flour; cut dough straight down. 7. Bake on ungreased baking sheet in 450 degree oven. Bake 10-12 minutes. Makes 12 biscuits. |
