MELT IN YOUR MOUTH ROLLS | |
1/4 c. sugar 1/2 c. hot water 1 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. butter 1 cake yeast or 1 pkg. dry yeast 1 egg, beaten 1/2 c. lukewarm water 3 c. flour, sifted Place sugar, salt and butter in bowl. Add 1/2 cup hot water, let mixture cool to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup lukewarm water, stir into sugar mixture. Add egg and flour, stir until smooth. Cover and let stand until double in bulk. Shape rolls on lightly floured board and let rise until double in bulk before baking. Bake at 450 degrees for 5 minutes, reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake 15 minutes. |
