1/2 c. butter flavored shortening
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

Mix shortening and sugar. Add egg; beat well. Add milk and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together. Add to creamed mixture. Roll dough out on a floured surface. Cut into shapes with cutters. Place on greased cookie sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar before baking or ice and decorate after baking. 4 dozen cookies.
