CHEDDAR & TURKEY PIE | |
1 9" folded refrigerated unbaked pie crust 1 lb. ground raw turkey 2 c. loose-packed frozen mixed vegetables 1 (11 oz.) can condensed Cheddar cheese soup 1 (5 oz.) can evaporated milk 1/2 tsp. dried thyme, crushed 1 beaten egg white 1 tbsp. water Sesame seeds, optional Let pie crust stand at room temperature. In a 3 quart saucepan brown turkey. Drain off fat. Stir in vegetables, soup, milk and thyme. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer 5 more minutes. Spoon into 8 inch round baking dish. Unfold crust; cut decorative slits in crust so steam can escape. Place crust on top of dish. Turn edge under, flute. Combine egg whites and water; brush over crust. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake at 400 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes. |
