DANISH PUDDING 
1 c. (2 sticks) butter
1 3/4 c. sugar
3 eggs, slightly beaten
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. orange juice
1 (7 1/2 oz.) pkg. dates
1 c. pecans, chopped
1 1/4 c. orange juice
1 c. sugar

Cream butter and sugar together; add eggs and soda to buttermilk and stir. Add flour and buttermilk alternately to creamed mixture; add salt, orange juice, chopped dates and nuts. Pour into prepared 10 inch tube pan. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees and let cool 10 minutes remove from pan while cake is still hot. Mix orange juice and 1 cup sugar until sugar is dissolved and pour over cake.
