CHERRY CHEWBILEES 
CRUST:

1 c. walnuts pieces
1 1/4 c. all purpose flour
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. butter flavor Crisco
1/2 c. flake coconut

Combine flour and brown sugar. Cut in Crisco until fine crumbs form. Add one half cup nuts and coconut. Mix well. Press one half mixture in bottom of a greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Set aside remainder of mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.

FILLING:

2 pkgs. (8 oz.) softened cream cheese
2/3 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 can (21 oz.) cherry pie filling

Beat ingredients (cheese, sugar, eggs, vanilla) until smooth. Spread over hot baked crust. Return to oven; bake 15 minutes longer. Then spread pie filling over cheese layer. Sprinkle crumb mixture over cherries. Return to oven. Bake 15 more minutes. Cool. Refrigerate several hours. Cut into bars 2 x 1 1/2 inches.
