1/2 tbsp. butter 1 envelope Lipton soup mix 1/2 green peppers, sliced 2 lbs. chuck steak, cut 1 inch thick 1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced (optional) 1 lb. can of tomatoes, drained & chopped Pepper to taste Mix together: 1/2 c. juice from canned tomatoes 1 tbsp. cornstarch 1 tsp. A-1 steak sauce Place large piece of Reynolds wrap or cooking bag on open pan or baking dish. Put butter on bottom of foil or cooking bag. Cut steak into serving portions. Arrange on foil slightly overlapping each portion. Sprinkle with onion soup mix, mushrooms, green peppers, tomatoes, and seasonings. Mix tomato juice, A-1 sauce and cornstarch. Pour over meat and vegetables. Bring foil up over and double fold edges to seal tightly. Bake 2 hours at 375 degrees. |
