1 c. flour
1/2 c. butter
1 tbsp. brown sugar

Bake at 325 degrees for 15 minutes in an 8 inch square pan. 1 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. chopped nuts 2 tbsp. flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder Pinch of salt 1/2 c. maraschino cherries

Pour over first mixture and bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes. Let cool.

FROSTING:

1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. powdered sugar

Mix with beater and add 4 tablespoons boiling water and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat for 20 minutes. It looks funny at first but keep on beating well.
