NATCHITOCHES MEAT PIES 
2 tbsp. flour
1 tbsp. shortening
1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. ground sausage
2 lg. onions, chopped
6 green onions, chopped
3 tbsp. chopped parsley

Make a roux of shortening and flour; add other ingredients. Cook thoroughly and let cool.

PASTRY:

4 c. flour
2 eggs
1/2 c. melted shortening
Milk
2 tsp. baking powder

Sift flour and baking powder, add shortening then eggs. Add enough milk to make a stiff dough. Roll very thinly. Use a saucer to cut circles. Fill and fold and crimp edges. Fry or bake at 350 degrees until brown.
