NUT CRISPS 
1 c. butter
6 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. hot water
Powdered sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add balance of ingredients. Drop in rough mounds on cookie sheet. Bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees or until slightly tinged. Cool 5 minutes, dredge with powdered sugar. Makes 4 1/2 to 5 dozen.
