BUTTERMILK POUND CAKE 
3 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
6 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. lemon flavoring
1 tsp. orange flavoring
1 tsp. coconut flavoring

Cream well sugar and shortening; beat in eggs one at a time. Combine flour, salt and baking soda and add alternately with buttermilk. Beat well and add flavorings.

Any flavoring may be left out or altered to taste. This cake keeps well and gets more moist with age. Pour into tube pan and bake at 325 degrees for approximately 1 hour and 25 minutes.
