CHILI CON CARNE 
Brown 1 pound hamburger in 2 tablespoons oil (optional).

Add:

1 tbsp. chili powder
1 tsp. salt
1 med. onion, chopped (2 tbsp. dried)
1/4 tsp. Tabasco
1 tsp. Worcestershire
1 can tomato sauce or 1 can tomato paste
1 can water

Mix well. Add more water for soupier chili. Simmer 30-60 minutes. Before serving add 1 can drained and rinsed kidney beans. Simmer. Stir occasionally. The longer the meat simmers, the better. Soupy chili - served in bowl with saltines. Dry chili - serve on plate with egg salad sandwiches.
