OLD FASHIONED OATMEAL | |
3/4 c. water 1/3 c. oats Dash salt 1 tsp. butter (opt.) For Microwave Cooking, combine salt, water and oats in 2 cup cereal bowl. Microwave at 50% power for 5 to 6 minutes until thickened. For Stove Top Cooking, stir oats into briskly boiling water. Cook on medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Add butter if desired. Cover and let stand until desired consistency is reached. For creamier texture, combine oats and salt in cold water, then bring to a boil, cook as above. Serve with sugar and cream if desired. Yield: 1 serving. OR open 1 package of instant oatmeal and proceed as directed on package. |
