BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES 
28 to 30 med. cucumbers
8 lg. white onions
2 lg. sweet peppers
1/2 c. salt
5 c. sugar
2 tsp. mustard seed
1 tsp. tumeric
1/2 tsp. cloves
5 c. vinegar

Slice cucumbers thin, chop onion and peppers. Mix with cucumbers and salt and let stand for 3 hours. Combine vinegar, spices and sugar in a large kettle and bring to a boil. Add pickle mix and heat thoroughly, but do not boil. Pack i hot jars and seal while hot.
