APPLE BETTY PIE 
4 c. sliced, pared apples
1/4 c. orange juice
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
Dash of salt
1 stick butter

Mound apples in buttered (9 inch) pie plate. Sprinkle with orange juice. For topping, combine sugar, flour, spices, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly; then scatter over apples. Do not pat or pack. Bake in moderate oven (375 degrees) for 45 minutes or until apples are done and topping is crisp and lightly browned. May be served warm with light cream or vanilla ice cream. Serves 6.
