APPLE NUT DESSERT 
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. butter, softened
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. peeled, cut up apples
1/2 c. cut up pecans
1/3 c. flour
2 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. butter, softened

Mix sugar, 3/4 cup flour, baking powder and 1 tablespoon butter in medium bowl. Stir in evaporated milk and vanilla. Stir in apples and nuts until well coated with batter. Spread in a greased 9" square pan. Mix 1/3 cup flour, brown sugar and 2 tablespoons butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over apple mixture. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until top is golden brown. Serve warm or cold. Spoon into dishes or cut in squares. Top with ice cream if desired. Serves 9.
