1 c. whole wheat flour
1 c. flour
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. baking soda in 3/4 c. buttermilk

Sift dry ingredients. Cut in butter, add buttermilk and stir until dough follows fork around bowl. This is thinner than biscuits. Pat dough on floured board and cut with cookie cutter. Bake 12 minutes at 350 degrees. Split hot biscuits and put in oven to dry. (Set oven at lowest setting.) These are yummy served with Cheez Whiz or cream cheese.

Makes 24 biscuits.
