CIDER POT ROAST 
1 1/2 c. cider
1 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ginger
2 whole cloves
3 to 4 lb. chuck roast of beef
Flour

Mix first 6 ingredients to make marinade. Pour over roast beef; let stand in refrigerator 24 hours. Remove beef from marinade; save. Sprinkle with flour. Brown in hot fat in Dutch oven. Turn to brown all sides. Turn heat to low and add marinade. Cover, simmer for 3 hours. Thicken gravy, if desired.
