FRIED CARROTS 
Baby carrots

Wash and scrub and peel carrots. Dry thoroughly.

BATTER:

1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
1 slightly beaten egg
1 c. milk
1 tbsp. shortening

Sift flour, measure. Add salt and sugar, sift again. Combine beaten egg and melted shortening. Pour into flour mixture and stir until smooth. Dip carrots in batter and fry.
