BEEF BURGUNDY 
7 strips bacon
3 med. onions, minced
2 tsp. garlic powder
5 lbs. cubed beef, browned
1 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. brandy
1 tsp. salt
2 c. burgundy
3/4 c. cornstarch
1/4 c. grated carrots
1 c. sm. whole mushrooms

In large pot, fry bacon until crisp; saute onions in bacon fat, add garlic.

Brown beef on grill; add to pot. Add pepper; sprinkle brandy (flame). Mix salt, burgundy, and cornstarch; pour in. Add carrots, let simmer until beef is tender.

Add mushrooms the last 5 minutes of cooking. Total cooking time over low heat is 1 hour 45 minutes.
