LASAGNE CASSEROLE | |
1 (12 oz.) pkg. lasagne noodles 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef or turkey 2 tbsp. salad oil 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste 1 med. can whole tomatoes 1/4 c. minced onion 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 1/2 tsp. oregano 1/2 lb. Mozzarella or American cheese, thinly sliced 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese 1 egg yolk, hard cooked and pressed through a sieve (optional) Cook noodles in salted water and drain. Brown meat in salad oil. Add tomato paste, tomatoes, onion, salt, pepper and oregano. Cover and simmer 15-20 minutes. Layer noodles, Mozzarella cheese, tomato, meat mixture and Parmesan cheese into 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Garnish with egg yolk. Serves 6. |
