FRIED GREEN TOMATOES | |
Fair sized green tomatoes (totally green) Medium thin batter, made from 1 beaten egg, milk and flour Slice tomatoes not more than 1/4 inch thick. Keep a heavy skillet well oiled with vegetable oil. Dip each slice of tomato in the batter so that it is well covered on each side. Green tomatoes cook slowly so keep skillet hot, but watch so that they don't burn. Brown on both sides and drain on paper toweling. If smoke alarm goes off call 911!! |
