DOUBLE PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. creamy peanut butter
1/4 c. light corn syrup
1 tbsp. milk
1/2 c. peanut butter for cookie filling

Combine flour, sugar, soda and salt. Cut in shortening and 1/2 cup peanut butter until mixture resembles coarse meal. Blend in syrup and milk. Shape in roll 2 inches in diameter; chill. Slice 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick. Place half the slices on ungreased cookie sheet; spread each with 1 teaspoon of peanut butter. Cover with remaining slices; seal edges with fork. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes or until browned. Makes 2 dozen.
