FISH CAKES 
1 lb. salted fish
6 to 8 potatoes
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 eggs
Vegetable oil for frying

Place cod fish in bowl. Cover with water and soak for several hours. Drain and cut into 3/4 inch cubes.

Peel potatoes and cut into 3/4 inch cubes. Boil potatoes until tender. Mash potatoes and fish together. Add pepper and eggs.

Deep fry large spoonfuls of mixture, turning, until brown. Place on paper towel and drain while keeping warm.
