ELBOW SPLIT PEA SOUP 
1 ham bone with some ham on it
5 c. water
2 beef bouillon cubes
1 bay leaf
1 bag split peas
1/2 lb. elbow macaroni

Put first 5 ingredients in a 5-quart pot and simmer on low for awhile (forget it). Stir gently once in awhile. Remove ham bone and add meat to soup. Cook elbows in salted water as instructed on box and add to soup. Soup thickens alot the next day and it is a meal in itself.
