BROCCOLI-CHEESE SOUP 
1 med. onion, sliced
1/2 c. butter
3 cans chicken broth
2 cans water
2 pkgs. frozen chopped broccoli
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
3 c. half and half
1 lb. piece American cheese or Velveeta

Saute onion in butter. Add broth, water, salt and pepper to taste. Bring to boil. Add broccoli, garlic powder and seasonings. Cook 5 minutes. Grate cheese into soup and add half and half. Heat until cheese melts. Do not boil.
