BUTTERMILK BISCUITS 
4 c. self rising flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. sugar
2/3 c. shortening
2 c. buttermilk

Sift dry ingredients together, using pastry cutter, cut shortening into dry mixture until consistency is similar to coarse cornmeal. Mix with buttermilk. Knead, roll out 3/4" thickness, brush with melted butter. Bake at 400 degrees until golden brown.
