Heating the oven - When a recipe states the oven temperature at the beginning of the cooking method, it means the oven should be heated when preparation begins. It is necessary to heat the oven for many baked items, such as breads and cakes, and also for foods that cook quickly, such as cookies and toasted nuts. KITCHEN SAFETY: Young children require careful supervision in the kitchen. Sharp knives, hot pans and electric appliances can be dangerous if used or handled incorrectly. Children should be properly supervised and instructed in the correct use of kitchen utensils and appliances. |
