BEET MUSHROOM LOAF 
13 oz. can mushrooms, chopped fine, reserve liquid
Milk
1 slightly beaten egg
1 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
Dash pepper
1 1/2 c. soft bread crumbs (rye bread adds a great flavor)
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
Ketchup
Maple syrup

Drain mushrooms, reserving liquid. Chop mushrooms very fine. Set aside. Add enough milk to mushroom liquid to make 1/2 cup. In mixing bowl, combine liquid, egg, Worcestershire sauce, seasonings and bread crumbs. Let stand 5 minutes. Stir in beef and chopped mushrooms; mix thoroughly. Shape into loaf in 13"x9"x2" baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Combine ketchup and maple syrup, brush on top of loaf and bake 15 minutes longer.
