BUTTER & NUT CAKE 
1 c. Crisco
2 tbsp. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tbsp. butter & nut flavoring
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sweet milk
1 c. self-rising flour
2 c. plain flour (I use cake flour)

Cream Crisco and butter with sugar until smooth. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Put flavorings in milk and add 1/2 cup alternately with 1 cup self-rising flour. Add rest of milk and 2 cups plain flour alternately.

Bake in large tube pan at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until cake begins to separate from side of pan.
