PEARL'S MEXICAN FRENCH-STYLE
GREEN BEANS AND BURGER CASSEROLE
 
1 lb. ground beef
1 pkg. sloppy joe seasoning mix
1 c. liquid from green beans
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste or 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
Hot peppers or hot sauce to taste
2 (16 oz.) cans French-style green beans, drained
1 (2 1/2 oz.) jar sliced mushrooms or 5 3/4 oz. can mushroom steak sauce
1/2 c. shredded cheese or 1 can Cheddar cheese soup

Brown beef in a large skillet. Drain off all fat. Stir in seasoning mix and liquid from beans until thickened. Add the tomato paste and hot pepper. Cover and simmer 10 minutes. Stir in green beans and mushrooms. Turn into a 2-quart casserole and top with cheese. If tomato sauce is used, pour second can over top of casserole. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until bubbly. Serves 6.
