3 pkgs. chocolate chips 1/2 lb. butter 3 tbsp. vanilla Put 4 1/2 cups sugar, 1 large can evaporated milk in a large saucepan and bring to a rolling boil. Boil exactly 6 minutes from time it starts a hard rolling boil. Remove from stove and pour over ingredients in bowl. Stir until chips and butter are melted and mixture begins to thicken. Pour into lightly greased pan, let stand 5 or 6 hours. Cut into squares. Add nuts or coconut if desired. Makes about 5 pounds. |
