MEAT (VENISON) 
2 1/2 lbs. venison
3 tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. vinegar
2 c. water
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. crushed red pepper
1 med. onion, chopped

Put venison in heavy pot with all ingredients except flour. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Cover and simmer until tender. Add flour to 1 cup boiling water and stir in pot. Simmer an additional 15 minutes. Add water if needed. Serves approximately 6.
