BEEF BRISKET 
4 1/2 to 5 lb. brisket roast
1 lg. onion
Garlic salt
Pepper

Sprinkle one side of brisket liberally with garlic salt and pepper. Brown under broiler. Turn over and repeat on other side. Slice onion; place around and on top of roast. Cover pan with lid or foil. Bake at 300 degrees about 4 hours. Slice thinly across grain and serve warm or use later cold in sandwiches.
