PINTO BEANS 
2 c. dried pinto beans, cover, soak overnight
Med. sized dry onion, cut in half
1 c. tomatoes
A little salt, add more to taste
Bacon or bacon drippings (2 or 3 tbsp.)
1 jalapeno pepper or 1/4 tsp. Tabasco sauce or 1 chili pepper

Cook just below boil for a day; stir occasionally. When about finished, add: 2 tsp. oregano leaves or 1 tsp. oregano powder

May have to mash a few to thicken. Can freeze them.
