1 peck pears 6 large onions 6 large bell peppers (I use part red and part green) hot peppers to taste (I start with 12) 5 cups vinegar 5 lbs. sugar 2 tbsp mixed pickling spices (tied in cloth) 1 tbsp salt Grind pears, onions, and peppers. Add sugar, vinegar, salt and spices. Cook 30 minutes after mixture begins to boil. Pour into sterilized jars and seal tightly. If pears have lots of juice, drain off. |
