TURTLE CAKE 
1 (1 lb. 2 1/2 oz.) pkg. German chocolate cake mix
1/2 butter, softened
1 1/2 c. water
1/2 c. oil
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
Chopped pecans
1 (1 lb.) pkg. caramels
Frosting

Combine chocolate cake mix, butter, water, oil and 1/2 can of sweetened condensed milk in mixing bowl. Mix well. Pour 1/2 of batter into greased and floured 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.

Melt and mix together caramels and remaining condensed milk over low heat until smooth. Spread over baked cake. Sprinkle generously with chopped pecans. cover with remaining batter.

Return to oven and bake 25 to 35 minutes longer until cake tests done. Cool. Spread with frosting. Cut in small pieces.
