COCOA VELVET CAKE 
1 3/4 c. flour
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. sugar
6 tbsp. cocoa
2/3 c. shortening
1 c. buttermilk
3 eggs
1/4 tsp. red food coloring

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs. Mix flour, baking powder, soda and cocoa. Blend into shortening mixture with buttermilk and food coloring. Mix until smooth.

Bake at 350°F.

Bake in 2 (9-inch) cake pans. Frost with any favorite icing.
