ROSE NEDREAU' DEVILS FOOD CAKE | |
1 1/2 c. flour 1 1/3 c. sugar 1 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar 1/2 c. lard 1 c. hot water or coffee 2 eggs 1/2 c. cocoa 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. salt SMALLER CAKE - 8X8 PAN: 1 2/3 c. flour 1 big 1/2 c. sugar 1 sm. tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar 1/3 c. lard 1/2 c. hot water 1 egg 1/4 c. cocoa 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. salt Cream lard and sugar. Mix dry ingredients together, alternately dry and hot water. Bake 350 degrees 25 to 30 minutes until done. |
